This policy explains how Alexis Cottray handles personal data in connection with alexis-fiverr.com and alexiscottray.com, including enquiries, call bookings and website analytics. The websites are hosted by Shopify and present my freelance services. All paid service orders and transactions take place through Fiverr.

Who is responsible for your data

Alexis Cottray, entrepreneur individuel in France, is the controller for the processing described in this policy that I determine for my business.

For privacy questions or requests, contact me on Fiverr and identify your message as a privacy request. Shopify, Google, Fiverr and other service providers may also act as independent controllers for processing they determine themselves, as explained in their own notices.

Information collected

Enquiries and bookings: depending on the form or booking service you use, I may receive your name, contact details, Fiverr username, website address, appointment time, time zone and information you choose to provide about your project. Required fields are identified on the relevant form. Without the necessary information, I may be unable to arrange the call or answer your enquiry. Do not submit payment card details, passwords or unnecessary sensitive information.

Service records: when you order on Fiverr, I receive the project instructions, communications, files and order information made available to me to carry out the work and manage the relationship. Fiverr and its payment providers handle checkout and payment credentials. Neither of my websites asks you to enter a payment card to purchase my services.

Technical information: Shopify and the tools used to operate and protect the websites may process IP addresses, browser and device details, access logs, cookie preferences and security information. Analytics can additionally include pages visited, referral sources, approximate location, interactions and pseudonymous identifiers.

Purposes and legal bases

I use enquiry and booking information to respond to requests, assess a project and arrange an appointment. Where this is requested in preparation for a contract, the legal basis is taking pre-contractual steps. For general correspondence, the basis is my legitimate interest in responding and managing business communications.

I use project and order data to perform the agreed service. I retain records required for tax or accounting purposes to meet legal obligations. Necessary security and abuse-prevention processing relies on my legitimate interest in protecting the websites and the people using them. Optional analytics relies on consent where required.

Submitting an enquiry or booking a call does not subscribe you to marketing emails. I do not use the GA4 setup described below for personalised advertising or remarketing. If I introduce additional optional uses of your data, I will explain them and obtain consent where required before they begin.

Google Analytics 4

I use Google Analytics 4, supplied by Google, to understand how visitors find and use the websites and to improve their content and usability. This includes measuring page visits, navigation and clicks from my websites to Fiverr. A click to Fiverr may be recorded as a key event, sometimes called a conversion. It does not confirm that you placed an order or made a payment on Fiverr, and this setup does not give me access to your activity inside Fiverr.

The two websites may share an analytics stream so that, when consent permits, a visit continuing between them can be understood as one journey. Analytics can use cookies and pseudonymous identifiers and should not be understood as completely anonymous. I do not intentionally send your name, email address, booking message or project content to Google Analytics.

Google processes device and interaction information and may derive an approximate location from the connection. Google states that, for EU, Swiss and UK traffic, IP addresses used for location derivation are discarded rather than logged or stored in Analytics. This does not prevent Shopify or security services from processing IP addresses for their own operational purposes.

Cookies and your choices

Essential technologies support functions such as security and remembering privacy preferences. Optional analytics is activated only after consent where required by law. You may accept or reject optional analytics through the cookie controls and change or withdraw your choice through the website's cookie preferences. Rejecting analytics does not prevent you from browsing the service information or following links to Fiverr.

Simply browsing the websites or reading this policy is not consent to optional tracking. Withdrawing consent applies to future processing and does not make earlier processing unlawful. Cookie controls explain the technologies in use and their durations. Analytics cookies may include identifiers such as _ga and _ga_ followed by a property-specific suffix.

Providers and external services

Shopify hosts the websites and supports their operation and security. See Shopify's Privacy Policy and Privacy Portal.

Google receives analytics information when that collection is permitted by your choices and applicable law.

If you use a third-party scheduling or meeting service offered through the websites, that provider processes the information needed to arrange or conduct the appointment. The provider and its privacy notice are identified in the booking interface. Scheduling information is used to manage the appointment, not to take payment for my services.

Where hCaptcha protects a form, it processes technical and interaction information to help distinguish genuine requests from automated abuse. See hCaptcha's Privacy Policy.

Fiverr processes information when you visit its platform, send a message, create an account or place an order. Its separate Privacy Policy applies to those activities. I remain responsible for the client information I use for my own service delivery and business obligations.

Information may also be disclosed to professional advisers or public authorities when necessary to meet legal obligations, establish or defend legal claims, or protect against fraud and abuse. Access is limited to what is needed for the relevant purpose. I do not sell the personal data collected through these websites.

International transfers

The providers above may process data outside France or the European Economic Area, including in the United States. Where required, transfers must be covered by a valid adequacy decision or appropriate safeguards, such as standard contractual clauses and any necessary supplementary measures. You can request information about the safeguards relevant to my processing through the contact link above. Providers' notices explain their own processing and transfer arrangements.

Retention

Enquiry and appointment records are retained while the request or appointment is being managed and, ordinarily, for up to 12 months after the last relevant contact. If an enquiry becomes an order, information needed for delivery becomes part of the service record.

For GA4, identifiable user and event data subject to the configurable retention setting is retained for two months. This setting does not necessarily delete aggregated statistical reports or change cookie lifetimes. Cookie durations are shown in the cookie controls.

Service and transaction records are retained for the duration needed to deliver the work, deal with support or disputes and meet applicable record-keeping obligations. Records needed for a legal claim may be retained until the matter and relevant limitation period have ended. Data no longer needed is deleted or anonymised. Providers may retain information they control under their own policies.

Your rights

Subject to applicable conditions, you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction or portability of your personal data, and object to processing based on legitimate interests. You may withdraw consent at any time. You may also give instructions about the handling of your data after death where French law applies.

To make a request, contact me on Fiverr. I may request proportionate information to verify your identity. Requests are normally answered within one month; where the law permits an extension, I will explain it within that period. Requests concerning data independently controlled by Fiverr, Shopify or Google can also be made to the relevant provider. I will assist with requests relating to processing for which I am responsible.

You may complain to the CNIL, the French data protection authority, or to the competent authority where you live or work. You do not need to contact me first to exercise that right.

Security and children

I use reasonable organisational and technical measures to protect personal data. No online system can guarantee absolute security. The websites are intended for adults seeking professional services and are not directed at children. If you believe a child has provided personal data, contact me so that I can review and address it.

Updates

I may update this policy when the services, tools or legal requirements change. The latest version and its date will be displayed here. Where required, I will give additional notice or request fresh consent before introducing a new use of personal data.
